2ND WRITESHOP FOR THE DRAFTING OF THE DARUL-IFTA’ ACT OF 2015 IRR

Cotabato City – The 1st Writeshop held in Davao City attended and participated by the Technical Working Group headed by Acting Chairman Atty. Al-Rashid L. Balt, Executive Assistant VI of the Office of the Attorney General-ARMM, Executive Director of RDI Aleem Abdulmuhmin A.Mujahid, and staff of RDI-ARMM. During the 2-day Activity the participants drafted the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Darul Ifta’ Act of 2015 pursuant to the mandate as prescribed under the MMA Act No. 323. The draft IRR will provide the agency with the mechanism that will help in the operation where all duties and functions of muftun, officers and management staff are clearly defined.

In August 22, 2016 the agency held its 2nd Writeshop at Estosan Garden Hotel, Cotabato City and participated by the Technical Working Group.  The TWG reviewed the 1st draft IRR were corrections  were made and was discussed and deliberated pursuant to the Darul Ifta’ Act that will benefit the agency and would make its operation effective and essential in the whole of ARMM. The 2nd Writeshop will be the basis for the finalization of the IRR of the agency.

The main objective of this 2nd Writeshop is to review, discuss and deliberate the corrections made during the draft Darul Ifta’ Act of 2015 Implementing Rules and Regulations. This activity will then provide a venue for discussion that will have impact in the IRR of the Darul Ifta’ Act which will give emphasis on the value of all the mandates and power given to the agency in providing services and to successfully uphold and implement projects to the Muslims in ARMM.

The 2-day activity was very successful where in the TWG was able to deliberate, review and revised the draft IRR.  The writeshop was headed by Acting Chairman Atty. Al-Rashid L. Balt, Executive Assistant VI of the Office of the Attorney General-ARMM.  The objective of the activity was effectively achieved with the cooperation of all the members of the TWG.
