DAVAO CITY - RDI’s existence gives direction and boost to good governance in ARMM. It will also serve as consultant to the regional government of the ARMM and the Regional Legislative Assembly on matters pertaining to Islamic laws, jurisprudence and ecclesiastical matters, the “religious guide” of ARMM leaders, bureaucrats and professionals, including those in the local government units.
Recently, the Regional Darul Ifta’ crafted its Manual of Operation. This Manual of Operation serves as the reference and guidebook of the employees to further enhance the delivery of services of the agency. It will also give direction to the employees as to their functions and responsibilities in the agency. It will ensure the sustainability of RDI in promoting collaboration and good governance as it is of equal importance that officers and staff of the agency are one in their vision, mission and core values to achieve the very objective of the existence of the Regional Darul Ifta’. A solid and unified RDI team is foundational to the success of organization.
On the second day, the employees took the boat to get to Leticia by the Sea in Samal Island. The one-hour ride was a warm up session before the activity starts. The ambiance inside the boat was great that provincial staff and regional staff start interacting with each other. The serenity of the place was a great venue for more intimate interaction among the participants.
The program started with Qur’an recital by Ustadz Abdulnasser Mamintal, one of the Maguindanao provincial staff.
Doctor Aboulkhair S. Tarason, Chairman of the Regional Darul-Ifta’ and Regional Grand Mufti, gave his Opening Remarks. He thanked the employees for being a good employee and for living up to the teachings of Allah. He emphasized that accountability and trust is important in the day-today lives of every Muslim. It is also important to have a good working relationship to be able to deliver quality services.
On the second part of the program, Aleem Abdulmuhmin Mujahid, Executive Director of the Regional Darul-ifta’ presented the history of the agency through a power point presentation. He also presented the 2017 accomplishments of the agency.
Sir Juni Ilimin who is the Over-all Facilitator of the activity, gave the background on why there is a need for a teambuilding in an agency such as the RDI. He set the tone through the leveling of expectations. The participants introduced themselves and laid down their expectations from the activity. Get to know each other better to be able to settle work differences and grievances. All employees open-up as to how they can contribute in the success of the agency’s implementation of its mandates.
Dr. Noor Saada, Technical Consultant of RDI, presented the craft Operations Manual for review and comments. He presented the Legal Basis, the new Vision-Mission and Core Values of the Regional Darul-Ifta’.
Below are the seven (7) mandates and the Core Values of agency.
It is an established fact that adults learn best by doing. Promote the value and benefits of teamwork and cooperation among RDI employees and provide basic understanding and principles needed for effective teamwork through the implementation of the Operations Manual.
The teambuilding activity may be the ground to improve communication and interpersonal relationship among each RDI employees. The commitment to serve and spread the teachings of Islam through good governance and accountability is what this agency stands for.
In the evening, the group had small group discussions as to how they can improve the delivery of services of each province.
On the 3rd day, Ms. Bailyn Mastura, facilitated the team building games such as Message Relay, Kayaking, Scrambled Letters, Guess the Word, Badminton, Jump In-Jump Out and Egg Relay. The staff was group into three.
After the games, Ms. Bailyn Mastura announced the winners. Chairman Tarason and Executive Director Mujahid distributed the awards for the winners. The employees were all happy and satisfied. They said that this is one of their best experiences.
At the end of the session, the employees identify and utilize the strengths of team members with the commitment to improve team productivity for a sustainable Regional Darul Ifta’.
