ZAMBOANGA CITY – The issue of extremism and terrorism in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao perpetrated by some lawless elements such as ASG and the Maute Group has not come only to the attention of the regional government but also to the national level. For this reason, the ÁRMM-Regional Darul-Ifta’ in partnership with Office of the Regional Governor, conducted an executive meeting with an aim of eradicating extremism in the region and hence a lasting peace and security be felt by every household of the Bangsamoro people in particular and the whole country in general where progress and development of a certain community rely.
The Executive Director of ARMM-Darul-Ifta’, Aleem Abdulmuhmin A. Mujahid introduces one by one to the Hon. Regional Governor MUJIV S. HATAMAN the participants of the Executive Meeting and the different Ulama of the 5 Provinces of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
The Honorable Regional Governor explains and tackles the alarming issue of extremism confronting the ARMM and it now becomes issue of national security that needs to be resolved by all legal and possible means and the important roles and contributions of the Ulama in resolving this issue.
Participants suggests to the Regional Governor some measures in resolving the serious issues of extremism and terrorism and how to stop their recruitment, while others tell RG the backgrounds and whereabouts of the leaders of these lawless groups, i. e. ASG and Maute group.
Dr. Noor Saada shows the next plan of program/seminars of the Ulama which is to be undertaken within the same month to prepare the Ulama and imams of the community in putting an end to this extremism that has long been marring the good and peaceful image of Islam.
